A Master and a Student are sitting on a hill in meditation the master holds up his hand to speak with one finger extended.
“The first rule of Zen is,” The Master begins, “You do not talk about Zen.”
“What’s the second rule?” Asks the student.
“The second rule of what?”

No matter who we are or where we are from, there is one thing we all have in common. We all seek happiness with everything we do in life. No matter what we are doing, we do it in order to gain pleasure, happiness, or avoid pain and avoiding pain is just another way of seeking happiness.
In our current culture of achievement, it seems that everybody is always setting goals and doing more in order to get more. It’s always about more more more. We set goals, achieve them, celebrate and set a new goal.

A Simple Question Can go a Long Way

Yesterday was Gratitude Day!!!!
So I’ve added the Appreciation Exercise to my daily routine. It’s been very refreshing to wake up and spend just a couple minutes appreciating the things I have and the things that I have experienced. I’ve also been spending the minimum 5 minutes per night just finding things to appreciate, and that has been a great way to settle down before I meditate and go to bed.
