Gray Skies Smiling at Me

HAPPY MORNING! I absolutely LOVE gray sky mornings, especially those consisting of a misted atmosphere! To my surprise, guess what I was greeted with this morning as I opened the windows in my living room before stretching? Exactly – a gray mist outside! So beautiful! Okay, so I’m sure you’re wondering where I’m going with this, right? Let me tell you: HOPE! It’s all about the hope behind those clouds that the sun just might shine… but you can’t be certain so you must learn to take the day(s) moment by moment and see what possibilities lie ahead while smiling your way through the gloom. :)

The secret for you this morning is that there are points in your life in which smiling is the hardest thing to do! The upward curve of your lips can seem to take every bit of strength that you possess – even though it only lasts a few short seconds. The laughter you share (if you’re able to get that far) is full of nervousness as you know you may break down at any moment. Today’s message to you is inspired by my own heart-breaking tragedy that occured almost a year ago. At the time, where I ended up (today) I would never have guessed. All i knew then was I had to be okay enough to be a good Mom to my daughter. When I look back now, it seems a bit extreme… but the pain is still undeniable. Little moments from that month “from hell” sneak into my mind ocassionally and still cause that same nervous sick feeling in the core of my body. The scariest part about it all, I know that there are worse tragedies that can/will occur in life in which worse pain could/will creep back into my life. Time to take a deep breath. :)

Through my personal experience about a year ago, the reality that life is unpredictable and that even the “gray skies” in my life have sunshine behind them was thrown in my face; it’s just a matter of getting through the cloud which can certainly take a while at times. My message to you this morning is to smile at those gray clouds in your own life – acknowledge the thickness of the cloud (aka: the pain you are experiencing), force your lips to curve just slightly. This whole process will get easier, eventually. I promise you this and remember, I don’t make promises I cannot keep!

So, here I go to face a day of possible sunshine and as I am blessed enough right now to not be in any pain right now in my life – I know I must make the most of each moment because the clouds can sneak up at any second. I challenge you today to be You, try to have fun all day (no matter what you’re doing), and SMILE! :)

Until next time…
