Hell Explained by an University of Arizona Chemistry Student

This was forwarded to me today and I had to share it with you all!

The following is an actual question given on a  University  of Arizona
chemistry mid term, and an actual answer turned in by a student.

The answer by one student was so ‘profound’ that the professor shared it
with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have
the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic
(absorbs heat)?

Quotes similar to these have been said by wise women and men throughout history, so what does it mean?

What you focus on you get.

That which you think, so shall you be.

I Have More Important Things to Do – The Gentle Art of Ignoring

At the end of the day, most people who have big projects on their plates also have big to do lists on their desk. Each day, this to do list will have a few things crossed off, but more will be added for the next day, and then it the list is never actually done. So how do we remedy this? How can we get more done with the same amount of time we have each day? It’s often a matter of ignoring large chunks of our list.

Ignore my to do list?!? You must be insane!!!!!

Declutter to Relieve Stress

Clutter is a common side effect in our current consumer culture.  We constantly buy more, get more and keep more.  We always want more, but very rarely do we get rid of more in order to get more.  In fact, most of us keep our acquisitions hoping they will continue to give us the same joy they did in the beginning.  Then as our tastes change or our things have overstayed their welcome, we refuse to let them go and eventually put them into storage, or the garage to keep them for a later date when we hope they’ll become useful again.  I’m guilty of this as are many of the people I talk to on a daily basis.

Get Less Done for a Better Life

I know this title may seem ludicrous, but I’m not suggesting you stop doing, and I’m not suggesting you stop achieving.  What I am suggesting is that you take a break from all the stress of life and start to just enjoy your life just a little more.  Take more time with your kids, your lover, your friends and enjoy this life.  You only get this moment to do once, so use it wisely.  Get the most important things done first, then enjoy some time doing what you love, after all, that’s why most people want more money, more time, more things, to do and have what they love.

Make Someone’s Day Today

Standing in line at the grocery store today I noticed that everybody just goes through the same motions while checking out.  They nod to the cashier, say hello, answer any required questions and generally move through each line like zombies.  I realized that in most of our day-to-day transactions, most of us do this exact same thing.  We move through life like zombies, feigning connection with other people.

Find the Leaks in Your Day

Ask anyone why they aren’t achieving their goals or spending their days doing what they love, and most people will tell you that they just don’t have the time. I know, I’ve always been one of these people. The problem is this just doesn’t make much sense.

If you take a moment to think about that phrase, I just don’t have time, it’s pretty obvious that we all have 24 hours in a day. The problem is that most of us don’t use those hours very effectively. Most of us waste our time messing around or if we are accomplishing, it’s usually low impact tasks.

Push Your Limits, Face Your Fears

Ask some of your peers what they have done new and exciting lately, and most of them will say no, ask them when they faced a fear last, and they probably won’t know.  In fact, when was the last time you purposely broke up your routine, did something new, or pushed your own limits?

It seems we all get stuck into a routine and that’s the life we live until something shakes us up and we start to explore, but aren’t the people we admire most in this world the people who seek out adventure?  Aren’t they the Entrepreneurs who took a chance and stretched the limits?  If we admire people like this so much, why aren’t we stepping out and stretching our own limits?

Attitude of Appreciation

No matter who we are or where we are from, there is one thing we all have in common.  We all seek happiness with everything we do in life.  No matter what we are doing, we do it in order to gain pleasure, happiness, or avoid pain and avoiding pain is just another way of seeking happiness.

In our current culture of achievement, it seems that everybody is always setting goals and doing more in order to get more.  It’s always about more more more.  We set goals, achieve them, celebrate and set a new goal.
