My Cheap Valentine

It’s Valentines Day again, and it’s time for us all to remember how important love in our lives really is.  If you don’t want to break the bank, but you still want to do something to remind your Valentine how much you love them, here are some ideas for Valentines that are personal and won’t cost an arm and leg.

1.    Get a decorative craft box and fill it with little love notes, maybe a sentence or two.
2.    Make your valentines favorite dinner then go out for a nice dessert.
3.    Take a one time Salsa or Tango dancing lesson.
4.    If you’ve got kids, get them involved with making a nice dinner then have a nice dessert for just the two of you when the kids are in bed.
5.    Go out for a nice latte and a Danish at a café where the two of you can just talk.
6.    Take your Valentine to experience something beautiful in nature whether it’s watching a sunset together or walking on the beach, it can be relaxing and romantic.
7.    Create an at home spa for your Valentine.  Give her a gift basket with candles and soaps then set aside some time for her to enjoy it.
8.    Set up a home movie theatre.  Watch a favorite romantic movie together complete with popcorn, candy and soda.
9.    Make a “Top Ten Reasons I Love You” List.
10.    Wake up before your Valentine and place love notes all over the living room.
11.    Write a love note on the bathroom mirror with soap, so that when it steams up, the note appears.
12.    Go for a walk in your favorite area of town together.
13.    Make a menu with a few favorite dinners on them and let your Valentine choose what you’ll make him or her.
14.    Is there something new that you have both been wanting to try?  Go do it.  If it isn’t inexpensive, can you modify it to make it inexpensive?
15.    Give your Valentine IOU’s.  IOU…One kiss, home made dinner, a walk in the park, breakfast in bed, a massage, etc.  Anything your Valentine may like.
16.    Go shopping at a lingerie store or sex toy store but don’t buy anything, just go shopping and get ideas.  This will get you in the mood and start your mind thinking about your Valentine.
17.    If you have a local chocolate store, take your Valentine for a tasting, and sample some of the chocolates together.
18.    Take a radio, or ipod with a dock and take your Valentine dancing at a private location: beside the lake, a park, or a special place for the two of you.
19.    Repeat your first date, same place, same everything, if possible.
20.    Leave a love note somewhere where your Valentine is certain to find it, in a pocket, a drawer, the car etc.
21.    Put several photos into a framed collage of your relationship.  You can even put these in order from the beginning to now so they serve as a map of your time together.
22.    It may not sound romantic, but pick a few household chores and take over for your Valentine for a week.
23.    Place a single Flower on your Valentines pillow so that it is discovered at bed time.
24.    Write several romantic little notes and put them into balloons.  Blow up the balloons and put them in the bedroom so that your Valentine can pop them to get the message.
25.    Create a treasure hunt with clues that are attached to love notes that have a surprise location or event in the final clue.  Surprise your valentine and take them there.

For those of you that are single, smile and spread joy everywhere you go.  Treat yourself to a relaxing V-Day.  It doesn’t just have to be for couples.  You deserve your love more than anyone, so give it to yourself unendingly on Valentines day and every day.  If you don’t who will.

Happy Valentines Day!!!

I hope this finds you well.
